I'm scaling Mt. Laundry today. Seriously, if you piled all of the clothes up that I've been washing, drying, folding, sorting and trying to put away, it would be a big, BIG, pile. A mountain actually.
If someone had told me about all of the laundry that needs to be done as a mom of just two children...well, I would not have believed them. It's one of those things that you don't believe until you're in it, sorting it, and avoiding it like I have been for so long that it is on top of me today!
So here is the thing, I'm turning over a new leaf! I promised myself, I'm never, EVER, letting it get this bad again.
I'm going to start to do one load a day. To all of you moms who have been doing this all along, I KNOW it is the obvious thing to do...I like to blame it on the fact that my washer/dryer are in my basement, and every time I go down there Ava wants to come with me to "help"...we all know how well that goes...and I have to make sure Ella is napping or really content, and then I listen really, really hard the entire time I'm down there rushing through it!!
Anyway...enough with the excuses. I'm starting anew. I'm actually planning on putting together a plan to become a better housekeeper all together. I will give you some updates/tips as I come across them. I'm not a very disciplined person so all of my methods and plans have failed me in the past, but, after this day of laundry something really needs to change....
Here are some pics to prove it to you!
And, by the way, that's not all of it! I brought two more baskets of clean clothes up from the basement since I took these pictures!
Anyway, as much as I never thought I'd be doing this much laundry, I definitely never thought I'd be posting pictures of it online. But, alas, I feel as if part of my mission as mommy blogger here is to share my foibles with other mommies so they don't feel like they're the only ones...well, I'm hoping I'm not the only one, but if I am then all of you get to have a feel good, "boy I'm glad my life isn't that crazy" moment on my behalf...either way, I hope SOMEONE feels a little better after reading this.
Cheers!
Wow - thanks for doing all our laundry honey.
ReplyDeleteLaurie at MOPS said that her mom always put off doing laundry. So the one day her and her sister piled all the dirty laundry into a "mountain" and stuck a flag in the top!!!! Apparently their mom didn't see the humor in their creation! LOL!
